Importance of Practice
Practicing your craft is the most important thing any professional does. With that practice comes real experience and valuable insight to future occasions where that experience comes in handy. Any professional will tell you that it takes a lot of work to get to the point where the information, skill, or knowledge comes to the tip of your tongue/fingertips/etc when you need it.
To be able to pick up your instrument "cold" and produce a sound that is right on pitch takes a lot of work and dedication. It won't happen over night, nor will it probably happen in a year. Instead it may take two years or even longer to be able to be decent at your instrument for your time spent playing. It will come with a lot of frustration, but then anything worth its time is. A video game isn't fun unless it's challenging at some point; and just like that video game or puzzle, the taste of victory or success is the sweetest after it is no longer challenging. Keep with it, and it will reward you.
The more you practice, the better you will become. Practice as much as you can while still enjoying other activities too! Use the guides provided to you to help you make an informed decision about how much you should practice. Don't forget to use your Google Classroom documents too! If you still need help, reach out to me and I will help you as I can.

"You are what you eat" The importance of listening for learners:
When learning how to play an instrument, it's very important to listen to professional performers on that instrument. You'll learn valuable things such as listening to how your instrument is supposed to sound like, proper tone sound, and stylistic considerations to some of the most important pieces in your instrument's repertoire. In each section of your instrument's resource section, you will find a "You are What You Eat" portion which will offer suggestions to artists and performers to listen to. Even if you don't listen to that type of music all the time, it's still very important to do at least two to three times a week. This will help you create a good tone and what sounds right.

Practice Tips: There are essential parts to any practice session. It's not about how much time you can pour into a single session, but about how smart you are practicing. One very important thing to remember is that practice makes permanent. So, this concept of smart practice comes into play.
