Reading the curriculum:
The curriculum guide you are about to enter is just a guide. I, the director, will be using this document to steer my program and to ensure effective communication between all those involved with the program. This guide is meant to assist on what content is being covered, what students need to know and be able to do in regards to instructional progression.
As I am a firm believer in visual aids for all learners, I have created skill checklists for students. These checklists highlight the skills I am asking them each week to accomplish. For a weekly skill checklist, please go to the level of band you/your musician is enrolled in and take a look at the trimester checklists.

Please note that these documents are just to give all students, families, and academic advisors a general overview of what is being going over in class and when. This document is subject to change to meet the needs of my musicians. Every group is unique and every musician deserves the chance to be their best in my class. This curriculum may be modified to better address individual student needs and skill sets. It is my goal to personalize my instruction to each student as needed. This may mean slower advancement, modifications specific to that musician, or a faster advancement for musicians ready to launch ahead.
